The Restaurant

Spiro's in Hout Bay is the ideal restaurant if you're looking for traditional, authentic Greek food made with love and care. With a definitive Mediterranean flavor this family owned and run store is situated on the Main Road on the way to Chapman's Peak Drive, if you're coming from Constantia. Styled in the colours of the Greek flag (blue and white), it boasts a fresh and clean look. In fact one could find a similar looking restaurant on an island in Greece. Spiro, the owner, is ever present, as is his wife Julie (although she may be hidden away in the kitchen). Both are passionate about food, people and life and will typically greet and welcome you warmly. You will be encouraged to stay as long as you like and may find yourself still finishing off lunch at 4:00pm. You're likely to even receive a kiss from Spiro on departure and that is regardless of whether you're male or female, according to the Greek tradition.

We are having so much fun.... it is the most wonderful thing this Diners card. We are so, so impressed. We eat out two to three times a week and make a point to visit all the restaurants on the list!

Their Liver meze is outstanding, and the shank is "fall of the bone" tender and tasty. Staff were knowledgeable and efficient, with a great vibe. Wonderful bar at the back. Great value, Grand Dining just makes it grander....

Very welcoming of the Grand Dining Club card! 2-for-1 on all 3 courses is an amazing saving! Love the Mediterranean court yard and bar out the back, and the childrens play room is an excellent idea!

I go to Spiros as often as I can because the food is outstanding. The management is great and has always been generous!
